Public Receipts is made up of

  1. income from taxes
  2. government borrowing
  3. issue of new currency
  4. other revenue
  • commercial revenue from goods & services supplied by the public sector
  • revenue from administrative activities (e.g. fees, rates)
  • gifts/grants from foreign countries or organisations.

The Government gained significant Public revenue through state-owned institutions before Conservative privatisation programs under Thatcher.
